Time to “Catch Up”?

Well, I have to say that my day to day job running a daycare has meant that I have so much less interest in addressing the current pandemic on my blog. I have spent the last week and a half trying to manage a round of furloughs, find alternative forms of cash to bring in and find ways to help parents who are completely unused to entertaining toddlers all day stay sane!

That being said, it definitely appears that Covid-19 is going to upend everyone’s lives and it is impossible to not address the effects it will have everywhere, including here.

While this could feel like a boon to a book nerd like me, I’m not sure it actually is. Is this a time to catch up on reading? How does this actually work when libraries and bookstores are closing so the only books easily available are online or audio? For people like me who like physical copies of books, does this limit us to what we actually have on hand in our houses?

I just don’t have answers to this. In addition, I have to admit that my reading inclinations are different as well in this time of stress. My attention span is limited, and the stories that capture my attention are not ones that are already on my shelves or on my TBR.

Also, my current interests are weird! I stayed up until 1 in the morning reading a pandemic book, which was both understandable and weird, but I am also struggling to finish a book about self fulfillment and personal growth, which seems like a good fit for now.

What are you reading right now? And how are you making it through this?
