Weekend Joys in Books and More: April 16th

    April 16, 2021 /

Hello Everyone, I would be lying if I said I hadn’t been put through the ringer on a personal level this week, but I go into the weekend recognizing the value of the support that I have! There is something about this time of the year that is always hard, and the added stress of the tail end of the pandemic makes this weekend all the more welcome. I hope your week has been better than mine, and that these fun things help kick start your weekend well. This list also has a bit of a theme actually, and I hope you find it “out of this world”! 1.) Apparently…

Weekend Joys in Books and More: April 9th

    April 9, 2021 /

Hello Everyone, We are having our weird second winter here in Montana, and snow in April is slightly less fun than it is in October! That being said, the past few weeks have been good, and I am looking forward to some fun weeks to come. This week, I have a few fun things for you all, and I hope it sets your weekend up well! 1.) I love authors recommending authors, and this list is pretty amazing. 2.) I have recently developed a deep love for Smithsonian Magazine, and this article is a great example of what makes them so amazing! 3.) This is years old, but I highly…

In Memorial: Magic School Bus and March

    July 18, 2020 /

Yesterday, we lost two incredible authors who have inspired me in so many ways. Both Joanna Cole and John Lewis passed away, and today, my heart is heavy. John Lewis was a civil rights activist, congressmen and co-author of the powerful and beautiful graphic novel March and Joanna Cole was the author of the incredible Magic School Bus series. March, which tells the story of John Lewis’s work as a civil rights advocate from his childhood and student life to the march in Selma, Alabama. I reviewed it a few years ago on my old blog HERE, and I highly recommend it for people of all ages. John Lewis is…

    My Reading Month: May

    June 10, 2020 /

I didn’t really have much of a reading month in May to be honest – we went back to work (in the midst of a pandemic) and between dealing with that AND a move, reading wasn’t at the top of the list of things I was eager to do when I got home at night! Also, with everything going on the world, it feels self serving to post too much about my little reading project now. What I will say is that I am working on a post that looks at books about racial equity, racism and racialized violence, and I HIGHLY encourage you to take a minute to look…
